Artist Statement

My landscape photography of the Japan Alps, especially the Kamikōchi region, is a reflection of my deep connection to the natural beauty of my homeland. Surrounded by soaring mountains, crystal-clear rivers, and cascading waterfalls, Kamikōchi offers a serene and ever-changing landscape that inspires my work throughout the seasons. I am especially drawn to the Azusa River, whose turquoise waters flow gently through the valley, mirroring the sky and peaks in every season. The vibrant colors of autumn, the quiet snowfall in winter, and the lively presence of Japanese macaque monkeys all find their way into my images. Kamikōchi is often described as a place where the gods descended to earth—a sacred land full of quiet energy and spiritual resonance. Through my photography, I hope to share the gentle rhythms and timeless stillness of this divine place, inviting viewers to pause, breathe, and feel the harmony between nature and soul.

私の日本アルプス、特に上高地での風景写真は、故郷の自然への深い想いとつながりを表現したものです。そびえ立つ山々、澄みきった川、そして美しく流れ落ちる滝に囲まれた上高地は、四季折々に表情を変える静かで豊かな風景で、私の創作にいつも新しいインスピレーションを与えてくれます。特に、美しい翡翠色の梓川には心を惹かれます。その川面には空や山々が映り込み、季節ごとに異なる表情を見せてくれます。紅葉の鮮やかさ、冬の静かな雪景色、そしてこの地に暮らすニホンザルたちの生き生きとした姿も、私の写真に大切に収めています。上高地は、古くから「神が降り立った場所」として知られる神聖な土地。その静かなエネルギーと霊的な響きを、写真を通して少しでも伝えることができればと願っています。見る人が立ち止まり、深呼吸をし、自然と心がひとつになるような時間を感じていただけたら幸いです。
