Artist  Statement

My love of mountains and rivers draws me to the contrasting landscapes of Zion and Bryce Canyon in Utah. In Zion, I feel a deep connection to the towering sandstone cliffs, narrow canyons, and the Virgin River flowing through the valley. The river’s presence brings movement and life to the immense, quiet walls of stone.

Bryce Canyon offers a different experience. Walking among the delicate hoodoos, I am struck by their intricate forms, changing colors, and the sense of time revealed in the rock. Each visit invites me to slow down and look more carefully.

Through photography, I seek to express not only the grandeur of these places, but also the personal experience of being there—the changing light, the silence, and the feeling of standing within landscapes shaped over millions of years. These photographs are my way of preserving that sense of wonder and connection.

アーティスト・ステートメント

私が山や川に惹かれるのは、そこに自然の大きさと、静かに流れる時間を感じるからです。ユタ州のザイオンとブライスキャニオンは、それぞれ異なる表情を持つ、私にとって魅力的な風景です。

ザイオンでは、そびえ立つ砂岩の岩壁、深い峡谷、そして谷間を流れるヴァージン川に、強く心を惹かれます。巨大で静かな岩壁の中を流れる川は、風景に動きと生命を与えているように感じられます。

一方、ブライスキャニオンでは、繊細なフードゥーの間を歩きながら、その複雑な形、移ろう色彩、そして岩に刻まれた時間の長さに心を動かされます。訪れるたびに、立ち止まり、より深く風景を見つめるようになります。

写真を通して、私はこれらの場所の壮大さだけでなく、そこに身を置いたときの個人的な体験も表現したいと考えています。変化する光、静けさ、そして何百万年もの時間によって形づくられた大地の中に立つ感覚。これらの写真は、その驚きと自然とのつながりを、自分自身の記憶として残すためのものです。
