Artist Statement

Yellowstone holds a special place in my heart. Each time I return, I feel a sense of connection to a landscape that is both powerful and deeply peaceful. It is a place where I can slow down, be present, and experience nature in a way that feels different from anywhere else.

As a photographer, I am drawn to the moments that reveal Yellowstone’s character—the movement of rivers through the landscape, the quiet presence of mountains and forests, the traces of wildlife, and the changing light that can transform a familiar scene.

Some of my most meaningful experiences have come after dark, when the landscape becomes quiet and the night sky takes center stage. Standing beneath the Milky Way, watching the moon rise over the land, and seeing evidence of wildlife along the boardwalk remind me that I am only a small part of something much larger.

My photographs of Yellowstone are therefore deeply personal. They are not simply images of a national park; they are memories of places where I have felt wonder, solitude, and a profound connection to nature.

Through my photography, I hope to share not only what Yellowstone looks like, but what it feels like to be there—to stand still, look up, and realize how extraordinary the natural world can be.

イエローストーン国立公園は、山々、川、森林、そして地熱によって生まれた独特の風景が織りなす、圧倒的な自然の力で私を惹きつけます。風景写真家として、私は光と闇が見慣れた風景をどのように変化させ、自然のまた違った表情を見せてくれるのかに魅了されています。

これまでの訪問では、昼間だけでなく夜のイエローストーンも撮影してきました。暗闇の中、グランド・プリズマティック・スプリングの近くに立ったとき、私はこの場所の広大さと静けさを特に強く感じました。空には天の川が広がり、やがて月が姿を現して、周囲の風景を静かに照らし始めました。ボードウォークの上には、バイソンやその他の野生動物の足跡が残されていました。それは、広大な大自然の中に刻まれた、小さな生命の痕跡でした。

私の写真は、イエローストーンの壮大な美しさだけでなく、そこに漂う神秘、静寂、そして自然とのつながりを捉えようとするものです。写真を撮ることで、私は立ち止まり、じっくりと観察し、風景をより身近に感じることができます。

イエローストーンは、自然が常に変化していることを私に教えてくれます。同じ場所であっても、光、天候、季節、そして夜の闇によって、まったく異なる表情を見せます。私の写真は、そうした一瞬の変化を記憶として残し、大自然の中に身を置いたときに感じる驚きや感動を伝えようとする試みです。
