Artist Statement

The Canadian Rockies have always drawn me in with their dramatic mountains, clear lakes, and powerful sense of scale. As a landscape photographer, I am naturally attracted to places where mountains, water, sky, and light come together, and the Rockies offer an endless opportunity to experience that connection.

When I am surrounded by these mountains, I feel both small and deeply connected to the natural world. The reflection of a mountain in a quiet lake, the movement of a river, or the changing light across a mountain ridge can transform an ordinary moment into something unforgettable.

For me, photographing the Canadian Rockies is a continuation of my lifelong relationship with mountains. Each visit offers a new perspective, a different light, and another opportunity to slow down and simply experience the landscape. My photographs are my way of holding on to those moments and sharing the profound connection I feel with the mountains.

カナディアン・ロッキーの壮大な山々、澄んだ湖、そして圧倒的なスケール感に、私はいつも強く惹かれます。風景写真家として、山、水、空、そして光が一つの風景の中で響き合う場所に自然と心を奪われます。カナディアン・ロッキーには、そうした自然とのつながりを感じる瞬間が無限にあります。

山々に囲まれていると、自分の存在がとても小さく感じられる一方で、自然の一部として深くつながっているようにも感じます。静かな湖に映る山の姿、流れる川の動き、山の稜線を変化させる光――そうした一瞬の光景が、何気ない時間を忘れられない瞬間へと変えてくれます。

私にとってカナディアン・ロッキーを撮影することは、幼い頃から続いている「山とのつながり」の延長線上にあります。訪れるたびに、新しい視点、新しい光、そして立ち止まって風景そのものを感じる新たな機会があります。

私の写真は、そうしたかけがえのない瞬間を心に留め、山々との間に感じる深いつながりを、自分自身の視点を通して伝えるためのものです。
